Opening Day at the Track

This past weekend was opening day at the track, a major event in my area that marks the beginning of the horse racing season. A day at the track (especially opening day) is filled with betting, drinking, and socializing all while you're dressed to impress. People from all over the nation come to experience the races for its rich history and aristocratic scene.

Every summer, my mom and her friends go to the track on the weekends to bet, drink and go out after. This year, I joined my mom and her friends on opening day where we sat in the clubhouse, a reserved section with table seating and a dress code to match.

The races started at 1 and by the time we got there it was POURING. Even though we had seats inside the clubhouse, the wind made sure we got sprayed. Eventually the rain let up, our drinks settled in and we stopped caring. Once the races finished, we all ended up going out. My friend and I split to another club downtown where we were forced to take jaggerbombs by fist pumping guidos [no joke] but thats a whole nother story.

Here are some of the pics from that day. I didnt get to take as many as I wanted too because of the rain and how it made everyone look/feel.

My friend and I. Notice 1.) the rain and 2.) how straight her hair is now

Inside the clubhouse. Lipgloss is always essential
